Software Engineering is one of the main research disciplines within the Software Systems Research Group (SSRG).- Aim:
Increase the level of efficiency and effectiveness in building large-scale systems by applying architecture analysis methods and empirical methods.

- Software architecture: improving trustworthiness, adaptation and interoperation of large-scale systems through architecture analysis.
- Empirical software engineering: improving software products/processes through the scientific use of qualitative/quantitative data and systematic literature review.
- Engineering cloud applications: improving cloud application development through applying software engineering research.
